Every single prill of POLYON® fertilizer imported, sold and used in Canada is manufactured by Koch Agronomic Services, LLC based in Sylacauga, Alabama USA. POLYON® is imported into Canada, formulated into specific products/recipes and packaged. Koch ensures that the facilities packaging POLYON® meet the rigorous standards necessary to maintain the integrity of the coating during packaging.
What is a release curve?
The coating around the fertilizer raw materials can be made to vary in thickness. The thickness of the coating determines the duration or release curve of a fertilizer product. All POLYON® undergoes a hold test release (hrt) procedure before it is shipped by Koch. This is a 14 day QC process to ensure coating thickness adheres to the rigorous standards necessary to guarantee specific nutrient release curves.
What is a fertilizer recipe?
A controlled-release fertilizer recipe is a combination of the nutrition ratio (guarantee analysis) and the thickness of the polymer coating of the prills. A recipe ensures that the right nutrients, in the right amount are released over the desired amount of time for a given crop.
How are fertilizer recipes developed?
Average temperature, desired release rate and local environmental conditions are taken into consideration when developing fertilizer recipes.
