Get to know Astri Buchanan
Hired to start November 1, 2021. Astri is a Kam’s Technical Sales Representative out of our Kingsville ON location. Astri has a strong IPM background with experience conducting and supervising scouting activities in local organic and conventional greenhouses. She is well-versed in the application of biological, conventional, and manual pest control strategies.
Astri has travelled extensively within Canada and abroad through her education and working experience. Her interest in commercial agriculture first began while working in the forestry industry in 2008 to fund her undergraduate education. She eventually planted approximately 500,000 trees(!!!) in three provinces and later became completely enamored with the indoor vegetable forests she found after relocating to Essex County in 2014. Her greatest passion is derived from learning about the unique challenges of each farm.
